[ WHAT TRAVEL MEANS TO ME ]Travel is wonderful and enriching. It stirs emotions we never expected to feel. But as thrilling and wonderful as it is, it is also a privilege, and one we should never take for granted.
Imagine stepping into someone’s home, walking through the rooms they’ve carefully curated, past walls filled with memories and shelves packed with stories, their stories. In someone’s home, you’re surrounded by some of the most intimate parts of someone’s life. And if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of their rituals; the quiet, meaningful routines that shape their world.
To me, this is travel, the sacred act of being welcomed into someone else’s home. And with a little bit of luck, combined with the right amount of humility and openness, you may even be invited to both witness and participate in the rituals that make that home uniquely theirs, and if you are, cherish this.
